About Pilates Centre

Pilates Centre was set up in 2009 by myself, Anna Wilson. The aim of Pilates Centre is to offer you a comfortable and professional environment for your Pilates class. The space has been designed with the priorities of the Pilates client in mind.

We will supply you with everything you need, such as quality Pilates mats and small equipment, so all you have to do is turn up and enjoy your class. We also have mirrors in the studio which allow you to see yourself as you move, helping you to become more aware of your placement.

At Pilates Centre you will receive high quality classes. Classes are kept small, to a maximum of 10 participants, so individual attention is given to each person.

A little about me - Anna Wilson

I first started to practice Pilates when I was training full time in professional dance. I started my dance training at The College of Dance in Dublin, where I was awarded a Diploma in professional dance. It was while I was there that I was introduced to Pilates, but it was when I moved to London that Pilates was really made a priority in my training.

While studying for my BA Hons at London Studio Centre, I was sent to the Pilates studio every morning before dance class where we were all sent to improve our posture and to strengthen up to prevent injury.

I have respected the Pilates technique ever since and went on to train as a Pilates instructor with the Pilates Institute Ireland, where I achieved a Diploma in Pilates Instruction. There I qualified to teach all mat levels - beginners to advanced, group and private Pilates. I am also qualified in specialised Pilates - props, pre/post natal, Pilates and the elderly, or anyone who suffers with conditions such as Osteoporosis, Arthritis or Spondylolisthesis.

More recently I have trained with Balanced Body to teach on the Pilates Reformer. These classes can be private or in small groups and special populations can be catered for. I love the Balanced Body American approach to Pilates and found the training really widened my understanding of postural and clinical issues that I see in clients every day. Balanced Body training is an internationally recognised qualification.
