Mixed Studio Equipment - Intro
This class introduces you to the various pieces of Pilates apparatus so that you can get familiar with the different benefits you can enjoy from each piece of equipment. Great for total newbies to Pilates or anyone who's done mat Pilates but has never used the equipment. Equipment used will be the Towers, Chairs, Foot Correctors and Arcs - whichever your instructor feels is best for you on the day! There are 8 pieces of each apparatus.
The Tower is the group class version of 'The Cadillac'. You're on a stable mat and springs will support you through some familiar mat and reformer exercises, as well as some specially designed movements just for this equipment that will balance your muscles and decompress your body. This piece of equipment offers some really great stretches that are unavailable elsewhere.
The Pilates Chair is smaller than the other pieces of equipment but it can actually the most challenging at times as it offers less support. The Chair is really popular with athletes as it offers lots of unilateral exercises which will balance out any one sided imbalances. It offers a really great full body workout with an emphasis on balance throughout.

"When I first started at Pilates Centre I was constantly aware of my back pain due to a disc injury. Within no time of taking a couple of classes a week I started to forget that I had a back problem at all! It's just great."
